Thank you for visiting our site! Drowsy Waters Farm is located in NW Oregon near Forest Grove and Hillsboro. We are a family operated farm striving towards breeding the best animals for production in meat and milk!
Although poultry and rabbits have always been part of our lives, we started with our goats and sheep in 1999. We are currently raise Nubian and Boer goats. We have been able to build up the production of our Nubian flock for the past ten years and are now getting does that will give us amazing milk production (3 gallons a day plus). With our Boer goats we are working towards a fast growing, sound animal that will do well for meat production. With both of our goats breeds we won't to see maximum baby production and good mamas that will raise their own babies. Our goats are pastured, but also given alfalfa and hay. We use minimal grain.
Katahdin Hair Sheep are a very special breed. They are hardy, prolific, friendly, and shedding! Very little hoof care is generally needed and absolutely no shearing, making them an ideal meat breed. We are working hard with our flock to get a quick growing, competitive meat lamb. Katahdins have amazing lean meat that has a mild flavor compared to most sheep breeds. Our sheep are pasture based, but are supplemented because of our relatively small pasture area.
Our Holland Lop rabbits are bred for pets and show. We have been very successful with this breed receiving Best of Breed and Best Opposite of Breed at the competitive shows here in the NW! We strive for good mamas, wonderful pets, and show confirmation.
Our poultry include laying chickens and ducks, meat chickens and turkeys, and our goose, Freddy. We do have eggs for sale, and sometimes laying hens.
Our dogs and cats are a wonderful part of our family and farm. We occasionally have a planned litter of kittens. Feel free to ask about them.
We often have breeding stock, market sheep and goats, pets, eggs, and milk for your bummer lamb, calf, kid, or other animal for sale.
